Checkbox in Publisher for Media to Make it 1st Search Result Listed
Erin Steinmann
Hello Parts Department, thank you for sharing this suggestion! To make sure we’re understanding the use case correctly, could you clarify a few details: when you’re running the search (within a specific media, across all media, or via a shared/direct URL), where would you want the “override” to apply? Also, what exactly would you want to force to the top of the results (a specific media, a specific page/section within a media, etc.), and how would you envision selecting that item (e.g., a checkbox in Publisher)? Lastly, should this “pinned first result” apply for everyone consistently, or only for certain searches (specific keywords/tags) or audiences?

Erin Steinmann When you perform the search in the main search field, if the media you have selected is to be display (matching keyword, tag, ect) that media would be displayed first in the search results and then the remaining results would be listed in the normal sort order. My vision would be us having the ability to select this option for any type of media we have (Product Page, Book, Microsite, Document). I do not see the need to be able to go to a page/section within a media. The simplest way I believe would be a checkbox in Publisher, within that media. It should apply to everyone who has access to the media, when they search for that media.
